I spent the weekend with some wonderful women at the COSIA retreat. As I was describing Tailored Curriculum to them, I shared with them that one of my goals of the program is to help create a space where parents and children can create cherished memories. Sure, I could create a program where the children learn how to sew directly from me but some of my favorite memories are sitting next to my Grandma Lois as she helped me develop my budding sewing skills. There was more involved than mere transferring of information. She was opening whole new worlds up for me. Many mothers want to create the same type of experience with their children but don’t know where to start. My desire is that Tailored Curriculum will help create those beautiful memories.
This beautiful film is an ode to those women who took the time to teach us how to sew. Who do you thank for your ability to sew?
