I can’t stand watching current fashion shows. They are overproduced and the models all look angry as they stomp down the runway.
Contrast that with fashion shows from the 1950s. The women glided down the runway. Today’s Thursday Theatric is a montage of fashion shows and films from the 1950s. They are pure glamor. No wonder I’m drawn to it!

When women were women. This was lovely. Thanks for sharing.
“When women were women.” I found myself thinking along the same lines. I enjoyed the maturity of the fashions.
This post reminded of the fall of 1962. I had just started the 8th grade and my parents took me to the Seattle World’s Fair. I remember watching a fashion show — a fast-paced presentation. The models fairly ran over these pads placed at different levels over a reflecting pool. It was a departure from the gliding glamor of the ’50s. It was youthful, colorful, energetic. I looked at my mother and found her looking back at me in amusement. Times were changing. But I was young and it was exciting to me because I could relate to it.
